Technical and esthetic quality

First of all, I would like to say that I do appreciate good photographs, not just good technical quality in photo. As with all things, this isn’t a black and white issue, but I feel a need to explain my views a bit more extensively.

What I personally do, is delete all photos that can’t make good quality 20×30cm print, so all slightly blurry shots WILL get deleted on the first round. Only after that I look what I’ve got. Now, there might be esthetically better photographs amongst the shots that got deleted, but there really isn’t a point to save those shots in my opinion. If you like to display your work, like it or not, people will look the (technical)quality as well. You might have got a great photograph, but if you can’t display it, what’s the point?

Other thing I don’t understand is that people expect whenever they have tried something new that technical quality could be lowered because it’s “new”. Something really new and innovation in photography takes skill, time and effort. Lots of both.

I really hope that people try new things but don’t forget the technical side of thing too. Take your time on trying the new ideas, in the end you will most likely get the photo which is awesome on both aspects if you practice enough.
